Solemare, meaning "sun and sea," was the dream home of a successful Italian-American who grew up in Italy and often vacationed in the Mediterranean. After falling in love with St. John, he commissioned a renowned local architect to design a classic Mediterranean-style villa that would evoke the romance and elegance of the Italian coast. Solemare is a spacious 4,300 sq/ft villa consisting of two buildings—a main house and a pool house—both with two levels, connected by a covered walkway. The entrance is located above the villa, with stairs leading down to the main house's upper deck. Mahogany French doors open from the upper deck into the gourmet kitchen, which adjoins a generous 1,000 sq/ft great room. The great room is tastefully decorated with intriguing antiques and colorful artwork commissioned specifically for Solemare.

In keeping with the Italian tradition of long, lively dinners, the villa’s dining table is set in a stunning location with majestic views that might keep you at the table for hours. The main level also includes a half bath, and a marble interior staircase descends to the lower-level bedroom. Exterior stairs from the upper deck lead down to the pool, pool deck, and additional bedrooms in the main house.

The pool house features two large king bedrooms, each with luxurious marble and mahogany bathrooms. A covered walkway connects to the master bedroom on the upper level, while exterior stairs lead down to the pool deck and the lower pool house bedroom. In true Solemare style, both the master bedroom and the main house bedroom are equipped with solarium showers, allowing you to bathe under the sun and stars.
